Project Engineer – Crewshield
Mullachery Vaman’s core expertise is in pro-active mechanical engineering with almost two decades of experience in co-ordinating and managing EPCC activities for oil and gas, marine and steel fabrication industries. As Project Engineer at Crewshield, Mullachery brings an amalgamation of stellar skills from production planning and production control to resource management to procurement management and site execution.
Mullachery’s engineering career began as a Trainee at Kerala Agro Industries Corporation LTD in 2004 where he was in charge of the repair and maintenance of power tillers, tractors and other agricultural machines in tandem with materials and store management.
Soon after Mullachery moved out of the subcontinent and arrived in Sharjah, the UAE, taking up the position of Project Engineer for Mascot Engineering LLC Sharjah. His duties included engineering, procurement, fabrication and the construction and installation of various towers, storage tanks, skids, silos and warehouses.
In 2008 Mullachery moved into the oilfield domain as the Production and Construction Manager, Project Engineer and Management Representative for Ocean Oilfield Drilling Rigs & Marine Eng. Services FZE in Sharjah. He held this position for six years in which time he accomplished many career highlights. His intricate work included: steel replacement works for drilling jack up rigs; fabrication, welding and coating works for dump barges and repair works for vessels and barges.
Between 2014 and 2016, Mullachery was the Senior Project Engineer and Project In Charge at SPEC Energy in Dubai. By this point Mullachery had become an authority in leading projects of an engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, coating and shipment nature. In this position he was at the helm of fabrication pressure vessels, exchangers and skids at the SPEC workshop site. He also managed the installation of skid packages and interconnecting piping works for installation across Natural Gas Process Plants in Nigeria and Bangladesh.
Then in 2017, as a Production and Maintenance Manager for Canadian Energy Equipment Manufacturing FZE in Ras Al Khaimah, Mullachery was in charge, for two years, of manufacturing the hydraulic workover unit as well as taking the lead in the repair and recertification works for mud pumps, slip bowl, rotary, gin poles, power packs, pumps, motors and cylinders.
Mullacherry’s most recent position up until 2019 was Project and Production Control Engineer for Techno Rig FZE in Jebel Ali, Dubai. The nature of his role saw him oversee the manufacturing of training rigs and fabrication as well as the welding and coating of mast and substructure.
As Project Engineer at Crewshield, Mullachery has blended his project management and methodology experience to nimbly co-ordinate the inputs of various functional sections while outsourcing contractors to execute Crewshield projects. He has a thorough understanding of modular fabrication and is well steeped in manufacturing, fabrication, construction and production knowledge.
Mullachery’s certifications and training include: AutoCAD; MS Project and Primavera P6 Planning Software; CNC Milling Programming; PMP Course Certificate; OHSAS Certificate and HUET. Mullachery has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum in India where he graduated with first class honours. He also obtained a Master of Business Administration (HR and Marketing) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Dubai.
